Beginning this project was relatively simple. My group and I were assigned to a country genre of music. The songs that were given to us gave me thoughts of rust, heat, smoky air, smell of hot dogs cooking, oil, mountains, deer, railroads, dirt, and stars. A country feeling to say the least. My group and I came to an agreement of a song by the name of "Beg, Steal, or Borrow." It incorporated a nice beat, and to be completely honest the only reason I chose it as because it gave me a clear vision of the music video that we would have to produce at the end of the project.
After picking the song to base our music video around we then had to chose artists that are involved in the country genre of music. Immediately Blake Shelton popped into my head, the king of country some may call him. Blake Shelton is involved in so many songs, competitions, social media, and overall current times it was hard not to pick him. The group settled on two music corporations to base our artists around, thus being Warner Records and Warner Music Group Nashville.
After extensive research of our four artists (Dan+Shay, Blake Shelton, Kenny Rogers, and Cole Swindell) and our two companies (Warner Records and Warner Music Group Nashville) we have attained a precise grasp of the marketing strategies of the artists and companies. Now with the goals highlighted and within our sights it will serve to be simple in creating a music video for our song incorporating the select marketing strategies.
