Week 2 Post 1 (character)

Angelo and I had a great planning session today. We not only discussed and outlined the story and characters, but we also learned how much work that had to be done. We settled on a character design inspired from the black plague in real times. The protagonist will be traveling an apocalyptic world that is dying and with that comes toxic gases and poisonous air. This lead to the character creation including a gas mask similar to those used in London during the plagues in order to give our protagonist a more iconic look that will stand out.

Week 1 Post 2

Today Angelo and I have just focused on polishing and sanding our idea and plot for the film. Picking an idea was like throwing a dart at a board. We constantly threw each other ideas but none of them stuck, until one...finally did. Angelo was listening to older music from the 50s which got the gears in his head turning. He was inspired by the 'rustic' sounds and I had an overall feeling of emptiness from the music to which Angelo agreed and came up with the idea a post-apocalyptic time in which as single survivor of a devastating disaster wiped out the majority of humanity, wanders the land hoping to find some kind of comfort in this hell hole of a reality.

Week 1 Post 1

Today my we were assigned a new massive project. I was not ecstatic about starting another project but you got to do what you got to do. So after hearing the explanation of the project and its qualities it was time to pick whether I was going to do it in a group or not. I ended up choosing my friend Angelo again for the project as he is highly skilled in film and cinematography. Angelo and I have been working together the entire year so it was only natural to pick him. We decided to keep the project just between the two of us because on previous projects, our creativity was limited due to other people's opinions. We briefly chose a genre and a very barebones frame of the plot for the film. The film would be revolving around a post-apocalyptical time in the near future.

Beg, Steal, or Borrow blog post #2

This project can be summed up with a cold coke as the sunset burns hazes of reds and oranges and the smell of roasting coals fills the warm, humid air. Beg, Steal, or Borrow was not just a project, it was an experience. It was a cause for connecting with other classmates and an already friend. I was in charge of acting in the our music video and it was fun to put it lightly.

My other group member Angelo was charged with the task of being the producer and film maker of the video. Angelo and I had to travel great distances in order to reach "the perfect setting", what Angelo called it. We had to travel down a nationwide highway and turn down an incomplete exit. Then we had to abandon my car and walk a mile and a half down a one-way street. The only thing that was visible was the lush green plant life that dominated the sides of the road and a single lone armadillo. We had to run down this street carrying a thirty pound mirror, which was a vital prop to the story, and bags full of outfits and camera equipment.

The acting was fun as I was able to share my love for role playing many different emotions with my friend who encouraged, supported, and guided my every choice for how I displayed certain emotions. It was so exciting to run around a beautiful secluded field that had its very own lake. We yelled, ran, started fires, and laughed. To wrap it up the walk back to the car was beautiful and thrilling. We told tales of panthers running out from the shadows of the lush and eating unfortunate kids. We ran back to the car as fast as we could, fumbling with the heavy cargo. When I received a text from Angelo of the completed movie, it truly brought tears in my eyes, it was a masterpiece, our masterpiece.

The Ending of Dramamine.
