The Ending of Dramamine.

I present to you... The Ending of Dramamine. After weeks of dedicated filming and editing we have finally finished our mini masterpiece. I couldn't be more proud of it and I must give the credit to the wonderful Angelo Azar who was the envisionist, creator, and genius behind this project. I simply followed his ideas and it thankfully all worked out. While I was standing there looking pretty, Angelo was on the ground carefully measuring the sunlight, shadows, composition, and countless other filming terms.

Angelo and I had put our literal tears, blood, and sweat into this project. We filmed in a nearby abandoned house where I was in the first scene. All of the glass was real and I was playing the role of looking for pills, I scraped my hands through many shards of glass. Thankfully my literal blood blended with the fake blood and helped to give it a more realistic tone.

Obstacles 4/2

The film is coming together very well however there are always shadows in brilliant light. Some of these shadows/obstacles include literal cows and camera faults. When we were filming in the main location of the film, the abandoned house a.k.a. the scavenger's camp, we were on a piece of farm land. The land was home to many cows and a leader, the bull. It was quite comedic and definitely was a great memory of this project that will forever live in my head. Angelo and our friends were HORRIFIED of the cows thinking they were going to kill us and were frantically googling ways on how to survive a cow attack.

how can you be afraid of this cutie??

We had a few changes to the project like events we wanted to include but didn't have enough time in the film to include it such as an entire brawl between two scavengers and an entire scene of the protagonist losing his mind and running around taking off his clothes to sell the idea of insanity brought from addiction.

Week 3 Post 2

On the topic of shooting schedules Angelo and I have problems rising in that field. I have a very busy schedule and it is very challenging trying to find time to film with Angelo. Not only do I have to attend school from 7:45 to 2:45 but I hit the gym after school, have seven classes of homework, spend time with my family, work, and leisure time so it is very difficult to find time. I usually work right after school too and then until 8:30 which gets on my nerves sometimes but it's worth it. Angelo and I don'y have a schedule per se we just film whenever we can. I have my off days where I don't feel creative or in "the zone" to act and Angelo has days too where he can't find the right shot. All of the problems are floating around but in the end it's all worth it because we always manage to pull off something spectacular and truly unique.

Week 3 Post 1

Today I started to brainstorm the storyboard of the film video. Angelo and my biggest stress is losing the audience's attention and focus in the first beginning seconds of the film. We both agreed that a huge attention grabber at the start of any film will spark some interest in any viewer and can create a memorable experience that will differentiate it from the rest. We devised a plan in order to grab viewer attention and that will be through a sudden action scene between the protagonist and a random antagonist. The film will also open with a song from the early 20th century and will play in the background of the fight scene.

Week 2 Post 4

So talking about the tone of the film, Angelo and I were not sure what we wanted. I prefer more a darker and more depressed tone for films while Angelo prefers a more neutral tone. So what did we decide to do? meet in the middle of course. We decided to incorporate darker tones while also having a more neutral outlook on the story in order to stay focused on the plot and keep on track. For the darker tones we have decided to add scenes of depression for the protagonist where he is battling his inner demons instead of physical battles. I also wanted to incorporate a feeling of loneliness and isolation for the protagonist as a future after an apocalyptic event is rather lonely so it only makes sense.

Week 2 Post 3

Today was a easy day. Angelo and I discussed the setting of the film or at least the majority of the setting. We have decided to film most of the video in a remote location off of a local highway. The reason we have chose this location for our project is due to the jaw dropping beauty and isolation that this hidden gem of a location holds. In order to reach this location Angelo and I must first drive down the highway and pull over after about a mile and then abandon my car in order to jump a fence and then walk down a mile long road all the while carrying all of our props and heavy camera equipment. It is all worth it as this location is truly one of a kind and well hidden so it is especially unique to us. Also the location holds plot value too as the plot of our film is about a scavenger "scavenging" and surviving through an apocalyptical world, so this isolated and desolate location fits perfectly.

Week 2 Post 2

On the topic of plot Angelo and I are not sure on which road to take. The number one thing that we want to avoid at all costs is to get the audience bored. If the viewers are bored than we failed. We want a story that is engaging and unique. We decided to have a strong and attention grabbing introduction into our story. The film will open up with the protagonist in the midst of a fight with another scavenger. The music that will be playing in the background will start to play which is another attention grabber and the exciting burst of energy and adrenaline with the fight scene will most definitely help us with our issue and hopefully solve it.

Week 2 Post 1 (character)

Angelo and I had a great planning session today. We not only discussed and outlined the story and characters, but we also learned how much work that had to be done. We settled on a character design inspired from the black plague in real times. The protagonist will be traveling an apocalyptic world that is dying and with that comes toxic gases and poisonous air. This lead to the character creation including a gas mask similar to those used in London during the plagues in order to give our protagonist a more iconic look that will stand out.

Week 1 Post 2

Today Angelo and I have just focused on polishing and sanding our idea and plot for the film. Picking an idea was like throwing a dart at a board. We constantly threw each other ideas but none of them stuck, until one...finally did. Angelo was listening to older music from the 50s which got the gears in his head turning. He was inspired by the 'rustic' sounds and I had an overall feeling of emptiness from the music to which Angelo agreed and came up with the idea a post-apocalyptic time in which as single survivor of a devastating disaster wiped out the majority of humanity, wanders the land hoping to find some kind of comfort in this hell hole of a reality.
